Sadko Mobile
Sadko Mobile was founded in November 2007 to create applications for Google Android, both for mobile devices and for desktops and servers interacting with such devices.
Sadko Mobile was created out of idea that mobile communicators are neither overgrown mobile phones, nor calling-enabled PDAs or undergrown notebooks - much greater than the sum of its parts. Communicators are a totaly new class of devices, that can and should be used differently to get from them all they can give us. We at Sadko Mobile believe that communicators are perfectly fit to become the next major wave of information technology revolution, like mainframes, desktop PC, Internet-connected PC and notebook computers. Having the right software is a crucial compotent of the ultimate mobile communicator.
Sadko is a mobile behavior and mobile lifestyle research company. Our goal is learn how people can and want to use smart mobile devices and to use this knowledge to create applications that enable communicator users to be more productive, do much more with their communicators and get a better quality of life.
Why Android?
The now-dominant mobile platforms are closed sometimes to the point where a lot of functions, including some of the basic ones, are not accessible to developers, poorly documented and limited. Creating great innovative application on such platforms is always a challenge, and limits of possible are very tight.
Google Android is a promise of a mobile platform where only hardware will be the limit. We want it to succeed because its widespread adoption will allow us to create an Ultimate Communicator that will be for the mobile revolution what Apple was for the computer revolution.

| Sadko Mobile was founded by Yuri Ammosov, a serial entrepreneur with many years of executive experience with tech startups. |
Yuri graduated from Princeton University with a Master of Public Affairs degree in 1994 and worked for a number of years as an investment banker, before leaving to high tech sector. Before founding Sadko Mobile, Yuri worked for Mail.ru, Russia's leading free web mail service, and founded startups XyberPoint (Flash-based web presentation software) and Comflux (technology for integrating voice-over-IP with GSM mobile telephony). Most recently, he worked for the Russian Government, leading the project of creating Russian Venture Company, an $1.25 billion fund of early stage venture funds. After launching the fund, Yuri left back to startup to create the world's best mobile phone - just as Google Android was released. |

What is Sadko?
Sadko is not a Web 2.0 buzzword that means nothing. It is a name of a Russian cultural hero.
According to medieval legend that goes back to the days of Crusades, Sadko was a minstrel from a medieval Novgorod Republic, that later became Northern Russia. Sadko became wealthy overnight, after betting his life against the estates of three merchant princes that he will catch a tiny fish of pure gold in the huge Ilmen Lake. Instead of living a life of a wealthy trader, Sadko embarked on a worldwide journey, seeking new challenges. He crossed the seas from Norway to Venice and India, won the heart of a Mermaid Princess but broke up with her, preferring to be a commoner on the land than a king in the sea. After the insulted Mer-King wanted to keep him prisoner under the sea, Sadko played a jolly melody to King on his zither, forcing the Mer-King in a magic dance, and escaped back to land.
In Russian lore, Sadko stands for creativity, courage, ingenuity, luck, love for freedom and commercial success, and of course mobility. A prefect proxy for a tech startup.
